Posted by itsallgreenandmore on 6/8/2011 to Skin
No one likes mosquitoes. They are one of the most annoying insects alive on the planet. We suffer from mosquito bites every year and the itching from the bite lasts for days and can sometimes be unbearable. However, there are a few natural inexpensive ways to help get rid of the itching from these pesky creatures. These solutions have been around for a long time so at least one of the four should provide some relief.

Witch Hazel - Very inexpensive and can easily be found at your local grocery store. Keep a bottle available at all times at home, and also a small bottle in your car medical kit.

Baking Soda - You put it in the refrigerator, use it to bake, to clean, and more, but it can also help ease itchy bites. Just add a little water to make a paste and apply to the area.

Dead Sea Mud - It's used to draw toxins out of the body, but it's not just for facials, acne, and eczema it will also help stop itching. Just apply, let dry and wipe off after about 10 minutes.

Herbal Salves - There are so many herbal salves that have nothing but good stuff in them. Most contain coconut, jojoba, sweet almond, olive oils, etc. and medicinal herbs such as comfrey, st. john's wort, and chickweed. They also contain essential oils some of which also provide healing properties.

For an all natural insect repellent try our All Terrain Herbal Insect Repellent. Oa more serious note mosquitoes may be annoying and cause serious itching, but they can also spread diseases such as malaria which kills over a million people each year in Africa, especially kids. Malaria No More is an organization who takes donations for mosquito nets to help combat the spread of Malaria and to save lives.
